The basic principle of the Leeb hardness tester involves an impact body of a certain mass striking the sample surface under a specific test force, measuring the impact velocity and rebound velocity of the impact body at 1mm from the sample surface. Using electromagnetic principles, it senses a voltage proportional to the velocity. It is suitable for installed machinery or permanently assembled components, mold cavities, heavy workpieces, pressure vessels, failure analysis of steam turbine generator sets and their equipment, workpieces with very limited experimental space, bearings and other parts, applications requiring formal original records of test results, material differentiation in metal material warehouses, and rapid inspection of multiple measurement points on large workpieces.
