Rotary Rake Screen

I. Purpose:

The rotary rake screen is used in the inlet channels (or wells) of urban sewage treatment plants, waterworks, and rainwater pumping stations to automatically intercept and remove floating debris in the water, ensuring the normal operation of subsequent processes.

II. Main Features:

1. Since the screen bars of the rotary rake screen are positioned in the middle of the rake traction chain (unlike other mechanical screens where they are below the traction chain), the direction of the rake's movement during the cleaning process is reversed (opposite to other screens), preventing hard objects from being dragged to the bottom and jamming the rake and traction chain;

2. An overload safety protection device is installed on the sprocket at the output shaft end of the reducer to prevent damage to the equipment due to unexpected overloads;

3. Equipped with multiple cleaning rakes on the rotary chain, the screen ensures high cleaning efficiency and thorough debris removal;

4. Compact structure and simple electrical control, making it easy to automate.

III. Structure and Working Principle: The rotary rake screen mainly consists of a drive device, frame, main shaft, screen bars, slag support plate, rake, and traction chain. Driven by the motor, the speed is reduced by the reducer, which then drives the sprocket and chain movement. The cleaning rakes fixed on the rotary chain move behind the screen to the bottom, flip over to the front water-facing side after passing the guide wheel, continue moving upward into the gaps between the fixed screen bars, lift the intercepted debris out of the water, and automatically flip at the slag discharge outlet as the chain moves, unloading the debris into the conveyor or slag container behind the screen. The liquid flows through the gaps between the screen bars, and the entire process operates in a continuous cycle.

Channel width B, channel depth H, maximum water level H1, screen bar spacing b, and material requirements. Other standard configurations are provided if not specified.

If electrical control is required, the standard is manual control. The electrical control can include a PLC interface; it can be interlocked with other equipment; it can perform time control; it can perform level control—during shutdown periods, if the screen is unexpectedly blocked and the water level in front reaches the set accident high level, the screen can start immediately without being restricted by the cycle; it can perform differential level control—during shutdown periods, if the screen is unexpectedly blocked and the water level difference before and after the screen reaches the set accident high level, the screen can start immediately. Users should specify these requirements when ordering.
