In winter, the reverse transpiration effect of permeable pavement causes snow and ice on its surface to melt faster than on conventional pavement. The melted snow turns into water and drains directly into the ground through the permeable pavement, leaving no standing water or ice on the surface, making it more slip-resistant than traditional pavement in winter.
