USA VIAVI Laser Light Source OLS-85 Introduction
The OLS-85 handheld light source is a versatile, compact instrument used for the verification and certification of fiber optic networks. Its wavelength combinations simplify link loss testing for long-haul, metropolitan area networks, and access networks. It is also suitable for testing in network data centers and local area networks.
In addition to its 24-hour field standby capability, the OLS-85 can be used for maintenance and installation in office centers, production environments, and laboratory workbenches. It can also be operated remotely via its USB or Ethernet interface.
By expanding the OLS-85 with the P5000i fiber inspection microscope, users can inspect fiber end-face quality and automatically determine "Pass/Fail" with the press of a single button, achieving certification-level results.
When paired with the OLP-85 optical power meter, the OLS-85 light source features automatic testing functions that eliminate manual errors and improve testing speed. Automatic testing functions, such as auto wavelength testing and multi-wavelength testing, send transmission wavelength information to the receiver. A compatible auto-testing optical power meter will automatically set the wavelength, enabling accurate measurement of four wavelengths simultaneously and supporting multi-wavelength continuous wave testing. Users can generate and save comprehensive test reports on the OLP-85.
The OLS-85 light source allows technicians to use it anywhere, whether on a tower top or down a mine shaft.
