1 Overview1.1 The KX-3B Spasm Muscle Low-Frequency Therapy Apparatus (hereinafter referred to as the therapy apparatus) is a low-frequency pulse physical therapy device controlled by a microcomputer. It is used for alternating electrical stimulation of spastic muscles and their antagonistic muscles. This therapy apparatus has the following features:

a) Uses a high-definition LCD screen to display various treatment information, making it clear at a glance and easy to operate;

b) The therapy apparatus stores 6 built-in prescriptions, which can be modified and run, but modified prescriptions cannot be saved;

c) Allows customization of 10 prescriptions stored in the therapy apparatus, which can be modified at any time. Modified prescriptions are automatically saved for future use.

d) The current intensity of outputs A and B can be adjusted synchronously or asynchronously.

2 KX-3B Spasm Muscle Low-Frequency Therapy Apparatus Scope of Application

This therapy apparatus stimulates spastic muscles and antagonistic muscles, causing them to contract alternately, treating spastic paralysis and performing electrical stimulation and electro-gymnastics.

3 Treatment Principle

4.1 This therapy apparatus uses alternating electrical stimulation of spastic muscles and their antagonistic muscles to treat spastic paralysis. The characteristic of this method is that two sets of low-frequency pulses are sequentially applied to stimulate the spastic muscle and its antagonistic muscle, causing them to contract alternately. Pulse width and frequency are adjustable, and output current intensity as well as the staggered delay time can be adjusted. The principle is to first stimulate the spastic muscle to cause strong contraction, exciting the neuromuscular spindle, which through reflex inhibits the spastic muscle itself; then stimulate the antagonistic muscle to contract, using the two sets of currents to interactively inhibit the spastic muscle, thereby relaxing it and improving limb function. The waveform of the current used is as follows:T—Output pulse period;TA, TB—Output pulse width of channel A and channel B;IA, IB—Output current intensity of channel A and channel B;T1—The delay time by which the pulse of channel B appears later than that of channel A.The pulse of channel A appears first, followed by the pulse of channel B after T1 seconds, repeating this cycle continuously.

4.2 Electro-AcupunctureBased on traditional acupuncture, a certain pulse current is applied through the acupuncture needle to enhance the stimulating effect of acupuncture. Treatment using this method is called electro-acupuncture. The specific method is: According to the treatment area, select suitable acupuncture needles, disinfect the needle and the affected area with medical alcohol cotton, insert the acupuncture needle into the affected area, then attach the provided electro-acupuncture clips to the needle handle, and slowly adjust the output current to achieve the required therapeutic dose for the patient. If the patient is afraid of needles, the electrode therapy method can be chosen.

4.3 MassageThe role of massage is to promote blood circulation in muscle tissue, reduce muscle fatigue, and achieve relaxation of nerves and alleviation of soreness. Electrical massage achieves the above purposes through low-frequency pulse electrical stimulation. Clinical applications show that low-frequency pulse current stimulation can promote blood circulation, regulate muscle tension, and inhibit pain, all of which effectively serve the purpose of electrical massage.

5.4 Delay time: The output pulse of channel B appears delayed compared to that of channel A. The delay time T1 is continuously adjustable from 0.1 s to 1.5 s, with a step of 0.1 s, tolerance ±15%.5.5 Output intensity: The peak pulse current Ip for outputs A and B is continuously adjustable from 0 to 99 mA, with a maximum output tolerance of ±15%.

5.6 Timing duration: The timing duration is divided into six settings: 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 20 min, 25 min, and 30 min, with an allowable deviation of ±5%.

5.7 Misadjustment indication function: When adjustment is improper, such that the pulse period is less than or equal to the delay time, the therapy apparatus displays a misadjustment indication "T1>=T?".
