Application of Inclination Sensors in Crane Arm Control Systems

Cranes are load-bearing machines used in construction and industrial production. A telescopic manipulator is essentially a small-scale lifting machine. In the construction industry, the telescopic boom of a crane is designed to operate on rough terrain, making it necessary to consider tipping risks. To provide early warnings and prevent accidents, safety systems must be integrated into the machinery.
Two factors contribute to machine tipping: the attitude of the cab and the boom inclination. These variables can be easily measured using inclination sensors. For the cab's attitude, both the lateral and longitudinal axes need monitoring, with a typical maximum angle of ±30°. The boom angle has similar characteristics to the crane’s boom angle—during actual loading, even a slight change in angle can equate to a significant change in load. The relative length of the boom amplifies this effect, especially when the boom is horizontal or near horizontal. The normal working range for the boom is 0–90°.

3. Power supply voltage: DC 9–36V (can be directly connected to the equipment’s battery)
4. Output signals: 0–5V, 4–20mA, RS232/485, CAN bus, switch signals, and other analog or digital methods.
