Before starting the system, ensure that raw water cannot enter the elements, check each item according to the pre-start checklist, thoroughly flush the raw water pretreatment section to remove impurities and other contaminants, preventing them from entering the high-pressure pump and membrane elements. Special attention should be paid to testing whether the SDI15 value of the pretreated water is qualified and ensuring the inlet water contains no oxidizing agents such as residual chlorine; check all valves and ensure all settings are correct, the system's product water discharge valve, inlet control valve, and concentrate control valve must be fully open; use low-pressure, low-flow qualified pretreated water to displace air from the membrane elements and pressure vessels, with a flushing pressure of 0.2~0.4 MPa (30~60 psi). For each 4-inch pressure vessel, the flushing flow rate is 0.6~3.0 m3/h, and for each 8-inch pressure vessel, it is 2.4~12.0 m3/h. All product water and concentrate during flushing should be discharged to the sewer. During flushing, check all valves and pipe connections for leaks, and tighten or repair any leaking points; for systems with wet membranes, flush for at least 30 minutes before closing the membrane inlet control valve. For systems with dry membranes, perform continuous low-pressure flushing for more than 6 hours or flush for 1~2 hours first, soak overnight, and then flush for about 1 hour. During low-pressure, low-flow flushing, no scale inhibitors should be added to the pretreatment section. The output water from reverse osmosis (RO) (EDI inlet water) typically has a conductivity of 2-30 μS/cm. Depending on the requirements, ultrapure or deionized water generally has a resistivity of 2-15 MΩ·cm.
