What is Mulberry Silk
Silkworms are divided into two main categories: one is the domestic silkworm, also known as the mulberry silkworm, which is raised indoors and feeds on mulberry leaves; the other is the wild silkworm, including tussah silkworms, eri silkworms, and Japanese oak silkworms, which can be raised outdoors.
Mulberry silk refers to the fiber formed from the mucus secreted by silkworms. It is the silk extracted from the cocoons spun by mulberry silkworms. Mulberry silk is known for its pure white color, fine texture, and smooth feel.
Both domestic and wild silkworms can be used as raw materials for textiles, with mulberry silk being the primary type. Mulberry silk is often hailed as the "Queen of Fibers."
