This product is polyoxyethylene 20 sorbitan monostearate, formed by the polymerization of sorbitan monostearate and ethylene oxide.

【Characteristics】This product appears as a creamy white to yellow viscous liquid or a paste-like substance.

It is readily soluble in warm water, ethanol, methanol, or ethyl acetate, and slightly soluble in liquid paraffin.

Relative Density: The relative density of this product (General Rule 0601) at 25°C is 1.06 to 1.09. Viscosity: The kinematic viscosity of this product (General Rule 0633, Method 1) at 30°C (using a capillary with an internal diameter of 2.0 mm or a suitable capillary) is 300 to 450 mm2/s.

Acid Value: Accurately weigh about 10 g of the product, place it in a 250 ml conical flask, dissolve it in 50 ml of neutral ethanol (neutral to phenolphthalein indicator solution), heat under reflux for 10 minutes, cool, add 5 drops of phenolphthalein indicator solution, and titrate with sodium hydroxide titration solution (0.1 mol/L). The acid value (General Rule 0713) must not exceed 2.0. Hydroxyl Value: The hydroxyl value of this product (General Rule 0713) is 81 to 96.

Peroxide Value: The peroxide value of this product (General Rule 0713) must not exceed 10.

Saponification Value: The saponification value of this product (General Rule 0713) is 45 to 55.
