The OLS-85 handheld light source is a versatile, compact instrument used for the verification and certification of fiber optic networks. Its wavelength combinations simplify link loss testing for long-distance, metropolitan area, and access networks. It is also suitable for testing in network data centers and local area networks.

In addition to offering 24 hours of field standby capability, the OLS-85 can be used for maintenance and installation in office centers, production environments, and laboratory workbenches. It also supports remote operation via its USB or Ethernet interface. 

By adding the P5000i fiber inspection microscope to the OLS-85, users can inspect fiber end-face quality and automatically determine "pass/fail" with the press of a single button, achieving certification-grade results. 

When the OLS-85 light source is used with the OLP-85 optical power meter, it features automatic testing functions that eliminate manual errors and improve testing speed. Automatic testing functions, such as auto wavelength testing and multi-wavelength testing, send information about the transmitted wavelength to the receiver. A compatible auto-test power meter will automatically set the wavelength, enabling accurate measurement of up to four wavelengths simultaneously and supporting multi-wavelength continuous wave testing. Users can generate and save comprehensive test reports on the OLP-85. 

The OLS-85 light source allows technicians to use it anywhere, whether on tower tops or down in mines.
