Viscosity Standard Fluids ◆◆Brand: Brookfield (USA) ◆◆Purpose: Brookfield viscosity standard fluids provide convenience for calibrating your Brookfield laboratory viscometers and rheometers. ◆◆Classification of Brookfield Viscosity Standard Fluids: ◆Silicone Oil-Based Viscosity Standards: Silicone oil-based standards are most commonly used for calibrating Brookfield viscometers and rheometers: 1) General-purpose silicone oil standards; 2) High-temperature silicone oil standards; 3) Customized silicone oil standards tailored to customer requirements. ◆Oil-Based Viscosity Standards: Brookfield oil-based standards include mineral oil and polybutene, both of which are hydrocarbon compounds: 1) Oil-based standards specifically for CAP viscometers; 2) Oil-based standards specifically for KU-2 viscometers; 3) General-purpose oil-based standards; 4) Specialized standard oils for R/S rheometers. ◆Remarks: 1) Silicone oil is typically used with standard models, while oil-based standards are suitable for applications with shear rates greater than 500 s?1 or when measuring viscosity values above 5000 cP with cone/plate viscometers. They are recommended for use with CAP and KU-2 viscometers. 2) The accuracy of Brookfield viscosity standard fluids is within ±1% of the nominal value. The calibration method complies with the standards of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). One or two standard fluids are generally sufficient to calibrate your instrument. Except for the CAP standard fluid, which is packaged in 150 mL (4 oz) containers, all other standard fluids are packaged in 1/2 liter (1 pint) quantities.
