Hot Metal Analyzer Testing Equipment

Principle Overview:

The Hot Metal Analyzer Testing Equipment is a new generation of hot metal quality management testing equipment developed by our company after years of research and improvement, offering higher measurement accuracy and more stable performance. Hot metal quality thermal analysis technology originates from the phase diagram theory in metallurgy and has long been widely used in developed countries for the detection and control of hot metal in front of the furnace. It is an indispensable testing method in advanced casting technology and plays a crucial role in the production of high-quality castings. The Hot Metal Quality Management Instrument uses the solidification temperature curve of the cast iron structure formation process as the measurement object. The built-in computer analyzes the solidification temperature curve to obtain characteristic points of the curve under different compositions. Based on these characteristic points, it calculates hot metal performance parameters such as carbon equivalent (CE%), carbon content (C%), silicon content (Si%), nodularity (SG%), and tensile strength (RM). The thermal analyzer detection time is approximately 90 seconds, completing the test within the waiting time of the hot metal. Then, based on the automatically calculated amounts of carburizer, ferrosilicon, and scrap steel, the hot metal composition is adjusted to achieve the appropriate composition before pouring.

Software Functions

CE, C, Si Content Measurement: Can measure active CE, C, Si content for 10 target materials, inferring hot metal grade (HT);

Hot Metal Adjustment Calculation: Based on target composition range, hot metal weight, carburization yield rate, silicon yield rate, and measurement results, calculates the amount of carburizer, ferrosilicon, or scrap steel to achieve the target composition.

Nodularity Measurement: By measuring the eutectic degree and undercooling of the hot metal, and assuming sufficient active Mg content, infers the nodularity of the nodular iron.

Hot Metal Composition Management: Sets carbon equivalent, carbon content, and silicon content ranges based on product grade. The instrument displays content in different colors: exceeding the range in red, below the range in green. Users can modify the content range.
