Material Requirements

• Profiles: Profiles for steel explosion-proof doors shall comply with the current national standard "Steel Doors and Windows" GB/T 20909. Additionally, the chemical composition of the steel shall meet the requirements of the current national standard "Carbon Structural Steels" GB/T 700. Profiles or thermal insulation materials for aluminum alloy or thermally insulated aluminum alloy explosion-proof doors and windows shall comply with the current national standard "Aluminum Alloy Doors and Windows" GB/T 8478.

• Panels: Fire-resistant glass used in glass panels for explosion-proof doors and windows shall comply with the current national standard "Safety Glazing in Buildings - Part 1: Fire-Resistant Glass" GB/T 15763.1. The use of laminated glass shall meet the requirements of the current national standard "Safety Glazing in Buildings - Part 3: Laminated Glass" GB/T 15763.3.

• Sealing Materials: For wet glazing, neutral silicone fire-resistant sealants used in glass installation areas shall comply with the current national standards "Fire Barrier Materials" GB/T 23864 and "Flame-Retardant Sealants for Buildings" GB/T 24267. Sealing materials for operable sash areas shall comply with the current national standards "Sealing Strips for Building Doors, Windows, and Curtain Walls" GB/T 24498 and "High-Temperature Vulcanized Silicone Rubber Seals for Buildings" JG/T 488.

• Hardware: Opening and closing hardware for blast-resistant and explosion-proof doors and windows shall comply with the current national standard "General Requirements for Hardware of Building Doors and Windows" GB/T 32223. Additionally, the following requirements shall be met: The main load-bearing parts of the hardware should be made of steel materials.

Design Requirements

• Dimensions and Geometric Tolerances: The dimensions and geometric tolerances of explosion-proof doors shall comply with relevant standards, such as the limit deviations of door leaf width, height, and thickness, and the limit deviations of door frame width, height, and thickness.

• Explosion Venting Area: The explosion venting area of explosion-proof doors shall meet the building's explosion venting requirements. The specific area size shall be determined through calculation or experimental verification based on factors such as the building's hazard level and functional use.

• Explosion Venting Bolts: The selection of explosion venting bolts shall be based on calculation or experimental verification. Except under specified explosion loads, they should not be opened by external forces such as wind loads.

Installation Requirements

• Installation Location: Explosion-proof doors and windows shall be installed on solid walls or blast-resistant/explosion-venting walls with certain blast resistance or venting capabilities.

• Gap Treatment: Gaps between steel or aluminum alloy door/window frames and openings shall be filled tightly with soft materials that are thermal insulating, moisture-proof, and non-corrosive.

• Aluminum alloy frames in contact with cement mortar shall undergo anti-corrosion treatment.

• When using polyurethane foam sealant, dust on the bonding surface shall be removed before construction. The wall bonding surface shall be wetted, and the surface of the cured polyurethane foam seam shall be sealed.

• Waterproof mortar may also be used for filling, but mortar containing sea sand should not be used.

• Grounding Treatment: Explosion-proof doors and windows used in black powder or pyrotechnic production buildings shall be grounded.

Performance Requirements

• Air Tightness, Water Tightness, and Wind Resistance: Explosion-proof doors and windows used in external enclosures shall possess air tightness, water tightness, and wind resistance. Their performance indicators shall comply with current local standards, codes, and engineering design requirements.

• Thermal Insulation Function: Depending on the climatic characteristics of the usage area, explosion-proof doors and windows shall have corresponding thermal insulation or heat insulation functions. The thermal transmittance and solar heat gain coefficient shall meet engineering design requirements.

• Explosion Venting Performance: During an explosion, explosion-proof doors and windows shall open or fail rapidly upon reaching the venting pressure to release the internal explosion load of the building.
