Application Scope: The Herzberg filtration speed tester, filtration speed tester, and filtration velocity measuring instrument are primarily used to determine the water filtration speed of filter paper and filter board with certain wet strength. It is an ideal testing equipment for paper manufacturing enterprises, paper-using industries, quality inspection departments, university laboratories, etc.

Product Use: This instrument is suitable for measuring the water filtration speed of filter paper and filter board with certain wet strength, but it cannot be used for filter paper and filter board that have been resin-treated or have non-hydrophilic or incompletely hydrophilic surfaces. The working principle of the instrument is to measure the time required for 100 ml or 200 ml of water to pass through a paper sample with a diameter of 35.7 mm (area 10 cm2) under a pressure difference of 1 kPa (i.e., 100 mm water column) on both sides of the sample. The time is expressed in seconds. Water quality requirements: At 20°C, the water should meet the conductivity of (3.2-4.4) × 10? ms/m tap water or 0.02% NaCl distilled or deionized water, filtered through a 0.8 μm membrane or equivalent filter paper, and treated with heating or vacuum degassing.

Instrument Structure:

1. The instrument consists of a container, clamping ring, measuring cylinder, and electronic control box.

2. The upper part of the container is equipped with an air vent valve and a constant pressure tube (funnel) with a funnel. The bottom of the container has a connector, which is connected to the solenoid valve via a tube.

3. The clamping ring consists of an upper pressure ring, lower pressure ring, bracket, and water collection box. The upper pressure ring is connected to the adjustment screw on the crossbeam. For easy sample installation, the column can rotate on the crossbeam. After the upper pressure ring is rotated out of the center, the sample is installed. Below the lower pressure ring is a water collection box. When replacing the sample, residual water on the lower pressure ring flows into the water collection box and then drains out through the leak pipe below the water collection box.

4. There is a connector at the bottom of the lower pressure ring, which is connected to the solenoid valve via a tube. When the solenoid valve is energized, water from the container flows from the bottom through the solenoid valve into the clamping ring. Water passing through the paper sample flows into the measuring cylinder via the permeable tube of the upper clamping ring.

5. The measuring cylinder consists of an electric measuring head, cylinder stand, and drain valve. Water passing through the sample flows into the measuring cylinder via the upper pressure ring. When the water level in the cylinder rises to the zero position, the electric measurement system starts timing. When the filtered water reaches the 100 ml electric measuring head, timing stops. The 100 ml or 200 ml range switch is located on the front panel. After completing a test, open the drain valve, and the water level in the measuring cylinder drops. When it returns to the zero position, the display resets to zero.

6. The electric measurement system consists of an electric measuring head, display buttons, etc., and uses a single-chip microcomputer-based measurement and control system for operation. The power switch is located on the front panel of the electronic control box.
