D172 wear-resistant welding rods are primarily used for surfacing various worn components, including gears, dredging buckets, tractor scrapers, deep tillage plows, and mining machinery.
D172 wear-resistant welding rods feature the following characteristics:

Coating type: Lime-titania coating, suitable for both AC and DC applications.
Arc stability: The arc remains stable during surfacing, with easy slag removal and good process performance.
Hardness: The surfacing layer hardness reaches HRC ≥ 40.
Chemical composition: Main components include C, Mo, and Cr, with guaranteed values of ≤0.50%, ≤2.50%, and ≤2.50%, respectively.

When using D172 wear-resistant welding rods, the following points should be noted:

Baking: The electrodes should be baked at around 150°C for 1 hour before welding.
Preheating: Large workpieces should be preheated to approximately 300°C before surfacing, and rust and oil stains on the surfacing surface must be removed.
