Design and Function:
The Model 463 Scratch Tester consists of a carbide cutting blade guided by a black fixed bracket and handle. In the standard version, the cutting blade features a beveled edge with a width of 1.0mm or 0.5mm. Using the locking screw, the cutting blade can be adjusted horizontally by raising or lowering it. For the Model 463 Scratch Tester, the sharp blade tip, graded as 1 or 2, lies in the same plane as the right-side black fixed circular bracket.
It can also be customized according to customer requirements: an optional 0.5mm carbide cutting blade is available.

Usage Method:

Use a hex wrench to loosen the two screws on the blade. Push the blade out and then tighten the two fixing screws. After pushing out the blade, with the black knob as the support point, the blade tip should be perpendicular to the horizontal surface of the test product. At this point, the fixed bracket of the black knob and the blade tip are on the same horizontal plane. Hold the instrument handle with one hand and perform the scratch test on the sample with the blade tip.

After the scratch test, conduct a salt spray corrosion test to observe the corrosion effect on the product.
