1. Reduce Construction Costs

Installation costs include labor and related expenses, as well as material transportation, handling, storage, and the cost of installing support hangers and joining pipes and fittings. Currently, metal pipes are commonly used in industrial applications, but their heaviness increases transportation and labor costs during installation.

However, PVC pipes weigh only about one-eighth of similarly sized steel pipes. Although PVC requires more hangers for support, only two people are needed to lift and install a 6-inch PVC pipe, minimizing disruption to the factory environment.

Additionally, PVC pipes are connected using chemical cold fusion agents. This process chemically fuses the pipes and fittings, creating highly reliable joints. PVC joints connected with chemical cold fusion agents are the strongest part of the piping system, more durable than the pipes or fittings themselves.

2. Reduce Economic Losses from Replacement and Downtime

Chlor-alkali companies need to transport highly corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, and saltwater. Metal pipes are highly susceptible to internal and external corrosion, leading to additional maintenance costs or premature replacement. Metal is also prone to flow obstruction and scaling, which can increase pressure drop and contaminate the production process. In contrast, PVC, due to its superior corrosion resistance, compressive strength, and scaling resistance, requires almost no maintenance. Even if partial replacement is needed, repairs can be easily carried out without affecting normal operations.
