Introduction to Hastelloy G-30 Material

Hastelloy G-30 alloy is one of the few grades with a chromium content exceeding 30% in nickel-iron-chromium-molybdenum-copper alloys. Due to the composite effect of its composition, it exhibits extremely strong corrosion resistance in solutions such as H?SO? and HNO?. The alloy's excellent resistance to sensitization allows it to be used directly after welding in most chemical processing applications. Its primary applications include equipment and components for wet-process H?PO? production and processing, as well as HNO? + HF pickling equipment and components.

Corrosion Resistance of Hastelloy G-30: It performs significantly better than G-3, Alloy 20, and Alloy 625 in resisting H?PO?, with a difference of 2–10 times. Its performance is not ideal in HCl acid but offers usable corrosion resistance in concentrated H?SO? below 50°C. It demonstrates good corrosion resistance in HNO? and mixed acids.

Applications of Hastelloy G-30: As a high-chromium alloy, it exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in strongly acidic corrosive media containing F, Cl, and other oxidizing impurities. It is primarily used in wet-process H?PO? production and processing, as well as HNO? + HF pickling equipment and components.

Available in various specifications including plates, bars, strips, wires, discs, ring blanks, and ring forgings. Bars are supplied in forged-rolled condition, surface polished or turned; discs and ring blanks are supplied in forged condition; rings are supplied in solution-treated condition; plates are supplied after solution treatment, alkaline pickling, straightening, and edge trimming; strips are delivered cold-rolled, solution-treated, and descaled; wires are supplied in solution-pickled coil or straight lengths, or solution-treated straight fine-polished condition.
