The flameless venting device consists of two parts—an explosion vent panel and a flame extinguishing module. The explosion vent panel responds to the rapid increase in deflagration pressure, immediately opening to reduce pressure. When the expanding fireball passes through the open vent panel, it is intercepted by the flame extinguishing module. The precision stainless steel mesh, supported by a frame, acts as a three-dimensional flame trap, extinguishing the flame and preventing its propagation, thereby avoiding secondary or multiple explosions. The flame extinguishing module eliminates deflagration flames, reduces the temperature of hot gases, and captures both burning and unburned dust passing through the open vent panel.

At the same time, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are significantly reduced. As flames pass through the mesh flame arrestor, heat exchange occurs between the arrestor and the flames, rapidly cooling the high-temperature flames while venting pressure and smoke. Additionally, pressure waves or noise from production equipment are minimized.

Widely used in industries such as grain, metallurgy, chemicals, power, light industry, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, machining, and solid waste treatment. With increasingly stringent environmental inspections, safety has become a major concern. In the past, explosion vent panels were commonly installed on dust collectors to release overpressure caused by dust explosions. However, such installations on indoor equipment are not permitted by safety regulations because they endanger surrounding personnel and equipment. The pressure waves and flames from explosions may trigger secondary or multiple explosions, posing significant risks. Therefore, relying solely on explosion vent panels for dust collectors is unreliable. We recommend using flameless venting + isolation technology (a more economical solution) or suppression + isolation technology to ensure production safety.

There are three main methods for dust explosion protection: venting, isolation, and suppression.

Venting: Releases explosion pressure in advance through a pressure relief device to protect equipment from damage.

Isolation: Blocks explosions using an isolation valve to prevent flame propagation.

Suppression: Detects sparks with a detection device, which then activates a fire extinguishing system to instantly suppress flames and prevent explosions.
