Exterior Wall Inorganic Thermal Insulation Mortar

Exterior wall inorganic thermal insulation mortar is a new type of energy-saving mortar material used for plastering the interior and exterior walls of buildings. Depending on the binding material, it is classified into cement-based inorganic thermal insulation mortar and gypsum-based inorganic thermal insulation mortar. Composition and Characteristics

Exterior wall inorganic thermal insulation mortar primarily consists of inorganic lightweight insulation particles (such as fly ash cenospheres, ordinary expanded perlite, and vitrified microspheres) as lightweight aggregates, combined with binding materials, anti-cracking additives, and other fillers to form a dry-mix mortar. It is mixed with water to create a slurry, which is applied to the base surface and hardens to form an insulation layer. This material has the following characteristics:

High temperature stability and chemical stability: Made from pure inorganic materials, it is resistant to acids, alkalis, and corrosion, does not crack or peel, has high stability, no aging issues, and matches the lifespan of the building structure.

Easy construction: Can be directly applied to rough walls. The construction method is the same as that for cement mortar leveling layers, using simple machinery and tools, with a short construction period and easy quality control.

Wide applicability: Suitable for various base wall materials and complex wall shapes. It provides a fully sealed, joint-free, and cavity-free insulation layer without thermal bridging.

Types and Construction Methods

Exterior wall inorganic thermal insulation mortar mainly comes in two types: expanded perlite insulation mortar and vitrified microsphere insulation mortar. Expanded perlite insulation mortar has larger particles, higher water absorption, and higher thermal conductivity. In contrast, vitrified microsphere insulation mortar has smaller particles, is virtually non-absorbent, has lower thermal conductivity, and offers better insulation performance. During construction, the dry-mix mortar is combined with water to form a slurry, which is then applied to the base surface and hardens to create the insulation layer.
