Water-based Polyurethane Release Agent

Water-based polyurethane release agents are primarily used on construction sites to prevent concrete from adhering to formwork, ensuring easy removal of the formwork while maintaining a smooth and even concrete surface. Water-based polyurethane release agents offer excellent isolation properties, significantly reducing the formation of bubbles and surface defects, resulting in a high-gloss, uniform, and uncontaminated concrete finish. It is an environmentally friendly water-based polyurethane release agent.

Water-based polyurethane release agents are suitable for all cast-in-place concrete applications in construction projects, including walls, columns, beams, slabs, as well as various precast panels, pipes, bridges, and other structural components. They are primarily used on steel, wood, and aluminum formwork, providing protection and contributing to effective curing.

Compared to oil-based polyurethane release agents, water-based polyurethane release agents offer the following advantages: lower emissions of volatile organic compounds during use, improving the working environment and benefiting worker health; reduced fire risk during storage and use; lower cost and ease of use, as they can be diluted directly with water, reducing raw material and storage costs; and lower environmental impact due to minimal organic waste emissions during application.

The main chemical components of water-based polyurethane release agents include methyl silicone oil, water-soluble emulsions, styrene, polyvinyl chloride, phenolic resin, silicone oil, fats, and additives. These components work together to ensure the performance and effectiveness of the release agent, guaranteeing its application and safety across various processes. Methyl silicone oil, a key ingredient, provides excellent lubrication and release properties, effectively reducing adhesion between the mold and the finished product. Water-soluble emulsions serve as the base, ensuring good stability and dispersibility in water. Components such as styrene, polyvinyl chloride, and phenolic resin enhance chemical resistance and thermal stability, preventing dissolution when in contact with different resins. Silicone oil and fats further improve smoothness and ease of cleaning, while additives are used to adjust and enhance the overall performance of the release agent. Water-based polyurethane release agents are widely used in medium to high-temperature production processes across various industries, including plastics, rubber products, foam, and metal alloy die-casting. Their advantages include resistance to acids and alkalis, tolerance to hard water, strong water solubility, excellent stability, and the ability to be diluted in any proportion without layering, breaking, or clumping. Additionally, water-based polyurethane release agents are environmentally friendly, easy to clean, non-corrosive to products and molds, and ensure good secondary processing performance of the products.

The dilution ratio for water-based polyurethane release agents typically ranges from 1:3 to 1:10 with water, and the specific ratio can be adjusted based on actual needs. For example, depending on the complexity of the casting and site conditions, the dilution ratio can be flexibly adjusted. Generally, the more complex the casting, the lower the dilution ratio.

The main ingredients of water-based polyurethane release agents include wax, stearic acid, vegetable oil, co-emulsifiers, potassium hydroxide, etc., produced through heating, melting, and emulsification processes. They are characterized by safe operation, minimal environmental pollution, low health risks, excellent release performance, and biodegradability.

When using water-based polyurethane release agents, it is recommended to dilute with tap water and stir thoroughly, determining the appropriate dilution ratio based on the complexity of the casting and site conditions. For complex castings, it is advisable to spray a uniform layer of diluted release agent onto the mold after each release to ensure easy demolding for the next pouring.

The color of water-based polyurethane release agents is milky white. This type of release agent is typically composed of silicone oil, synthetic lubricating oils, additives, and surfactants, presenting as a milky white emulsion. Water-based polyurethane release agents provide excellent isolation properties, effectively preventing materials like concrete from sticking to the formwork during demolding, while ensuring a smooth, bright surface free of pores and bubbles, and extending the lifespan of the formwork. The application methods include wiping, brushing, or spraying the diluted release agent onto the mold surface, followed by pouring the molten material into the mold.
