Network players, wireless players FCC ID requirements, precautions
For products exported to the United States, products with wired functions require FCC SDOC; products with wireless functions require FCC ID.
It should be noted: For wireless products, it is necessary to confirm whether the product can still function normally after its wireless function is disabled. If it can, then FCC SDOC is also required; otherwise, it is not.
For different products, the cost varies depending on the wireless functions they support. Specific details require providing the product manual and WIFI specifications for evaluation.
For example, for Bluetooth products, is it Bluetooth single-mode or Bluetooth dual-mode?
(Bluetooth is divided into EDR Classic Bluetooth and BLE Low Energy Bluetooth. Supporting one is single-mode; supporting both is dual-mode).
For WIFI products, is it single antenna or multiple antennas? Does it support WIFI 6G?
(WIFI 5G frequency bands are: 5.2, 5.3, 5.6, 5.8. Generally, only 5.2 and 5.8 need to be tested).
FCC ID requires the following materials:
1. User manual (must include FCC warning statement).
2. Circuit schematic (with parameters of each component), block diagram, PCB layout (wiring diagram), working principle description, nameplate/label (must include FCC ID number).
3. BOM list.
4. Antenna specifications. This can be the antenna's datasheet or antenna test report, but it must include gain test data and related charts.
5. U.S. agent.
6. Fixed-frequency prototype, normal prototype, fixed-frequency software, fixed-frequency method, fixed-frequency jig (if required).
7. If applying for FCC ID for the first time, FRN registration and Grantee Code registration are required (Grantee Code registration incurs a fee). The following information must be provided: full name in English, position, phone number, fax, email.
The FCC ID number consists of two parts: Grantee code (authorization code) and Product code (product code).
