An automotive filter is a component that uses filter paper or other filtering media to remove impurities or gases, primarily used to protect the engine and other vehicle systems. Automotive filters can be categorized into the following types based on their functions:
 Oil Filter : Used to remove impurities such as dust, metal particles, carbon deposits, and soot particles from the engine oil to protect the engine. Oil filters are divided into full-flow and bypass types. Full-flow filters are connected in series between the oil pump and the main oil passage, filtering all the oil entering the system; bypass filters are connected in parallel with the main oil passage, filtering only a portion of the oil.
 Air Filter : Used to filter the air entering the engine, removing impurities such as dust and sand particles to prevent them from entering the cylinders and causing engine wear. Air filters are typically installed in front of the carburetor or intake pipe.
 Fuel Filter : Includes gasoline filters and diesel filters, used to filter impurities and moisture from the fuel, ensuring fuel cleanliness and preventing impurities from entering the fuel system, which could affect engine performance. The cleaning or replacement interval for gasoline filters is generally every 2,000-3,000 kilometers.
 Cabin Air Filter : Used to filter the air entering the vehicle cabin, removing impurities such as dust and pollen to provide clean air and ensure the health of the occupants.
