Rotundine, also known as Levo-tetrahydropalmatine, is primarily extracted and refined from plants of the Menispermaceae family, such as Corydalis. It appears as white to slightly yellow crystals or crystalline powder, odorless, with a slightly bitter taste. It is prone to deterioration when exposed to light and must be stored sealed and protected from light. It is highly soluble in chloroform, soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in water, and its main components are alkaloid compounds.
