The screw conveyor is primarily used for the horizontal or inclined transportation of powdered, granular, and small lump materials such as coal, ash, slag, cement, grain, etc. It is not suitable for conveying perishable, sticky, or easily agglomerated materials, nor materials that must not be broken during transportation. The operating ambient temperature for the screw conveyor ranges from -20°C to 50°C, with material temperature below 200°C. The conveyor's inclination angle is ≤20 degrees, and the conveying length is generally less than 40 meters, not exceeding 70 meters. Screw conveyors are widely used in industries such as chemical, metallurgy, coal, cement, power, and building materials for material handling. Compared to other conveying equipment, screw conveyors offer advantages such as simple structure, low noise, excellent dust sealing performance, good wear resistance, flexible layout, and ease of operation and maintenance.

The screw blades of the conveyor come in both left-hand and right-hand rotations. The screw conveyor consists of three main parts: the conveyor body, the inlet and outlet ports, and the drive unit. The conveyor body includes the head bearing, tail bearing, hanger bearing, screw core, casing, cover plate, and base. The drive unit is composed of a motor, reducer, coupling, and base. Common screw diameters for screw conveyors include 160mm, 200mm, 250mm, 315mm, 400mm, 500mm, 630mm, 800mm, and 1000mm, though custom specifications are also available. The inlet and outlet ports can be either square or circular in shape. The intermediate hanger bearings of the screw conveyor are divided into rolling hanger bearings and sliding hanger bearings. (Rolling hanger bearings: Equipped with sealed bearings and additional dust-proof sealing structures on the bearing covers, commonly used in applications where lubrication is difficult, not required, or where oil may contaminate the material. They offer excellent sealing performance and long service life, suitable for material temperatures ≤80°C.)
