I. Overview

The locomotive and rolling stock coupler center height measuring gauge (hereinafter referred to as the "measuring gauge") is suitable for measuring the coupler center height of passenger and freight cars.

II. Structure

The measuring gauge mainly consists of a horizontal scale, a vertical scale, a coupler center height measuring plate, a left measuring seat, a right measuring seat, a coupler center height scale frame, a pawl, a locking screw, etc.

III. Operation and Usage

(I) Measuring the coupler center height

1. Open the vertical scale, reset the pawl, and secure it.

2. Place the measuring gauge on the two rails, move the scale frame, and swing the coupler tongue measuring plate so that the two inclined edges of the coupler center height measuring plate just clamp the upper and lower edges of the coupler tongue. During measurement, the horizontal scale should also be moved simultaneously to ensure that the vertical scale of the coupler center height measuring gauge is perpendicular to the rail surface. If the vertical scale is not perpendicular to the rail surface, it will affect the accuracy of the measurement results.

3. The coupler center height value can be directly read through the vernier scale.

IV. Usage Precautions and Maintenance

1. The measuring gauge must not be dropped or bumped, as this may affect measurement accuracy.

2. After use, the measuring gauge should be properly stored.
