Detailed Introduction

There are two methods to express the concentration of pollutants in the environment (air):
1. Mass concentration: the mass of pollutants per cubic meter of air, i.e., mg/m3;
2. Volume concentration: the volume of pollutants per million volumes of air, i.e., ppm.
Carbon dioxide, molecular weight 44, 1ppm = 1.96 mg/m3, 1mg/m3 = 0.51ppm.

The main purposes of the carbon dioxide (CO?) concentration monitoring system in public places are:
1. Continuously monitor the CO? concentration in public places. When the CO? concentration exceeds the safe level, an alarm is triggered, and the fan is activated to reduce the CO? concentration to a safe level.
2. When the CO? concentration in public places is below the safe level, the fan is stopped to avoid prolonged operation and save energy.

Application Areas

Most supermarkets, shopping malls, and other public environments currently rely on mechanical ventilation systems such as central air conditioning to regulate indoor air quality. If the supplied air volume is insufficient, leading to oxygen deficiency and poor indoor air quality, these places can become breeding grounds for the spread of respiratory infectious diseases, posing health risks to shoppers. In large shopping malls with high foot traffic, the number of people during peak hours can reach tens of thousands, and the exhaled carbon dioxide can cause CO? levels to exceed standards.

Indoor environment monitoring results show that during peak shopping hours, the CO? concentration at some monitoring points can be 5-6 times higher than outdoors. Indoor air with a CO? concentration below 700ppm is considered clean, and people feel comfortable; a concentration between 700ppm and 1000ppm is still normal, though some sensitive individuals may feel slightly uncomfortable; when the CO? concentration exceeds 1000ppm but remains below 1500ppm, the air quality is at a critical stage, and many people will experience discomfort.

This system can also be applied to sports venues, school cafeterias, auditoriums, conference rooms, hotels, and other public places.
