Product Introduction:
Ethylene propylene rubber is copolymerized from ethylene and propylene, with the main chain lacking double bonds, thus exhibiting excellent heat resistance, weather resistance, and ozone resistance. At an ozone concentration of 100x10(pphm), it does not develop cracks for 2430 hours, with an outdoor lifespan of over 25 years. In 160℃ steam, EPDM also performs better than other general-purpose rubbers, and it has good resilience, insulation properties (volume resistivity about 10^16 Ω·cm, breakdown voltage 30-40 kV/mm), and low-temperature resistance (Tg = -60℃). EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) is suitable for glycol-based brake fluids below 150℃, hot water and steam (up to 150℃), silicone oil and grease, animal and vegetable oils, most organic or inorganic acids, cleaning agents, alkaline or high-potassium environments, most polar solvents (ketones, alcohols, esters), phosphate ester hydraulic oils, and refrigerant R134a+PAG systems. It performs well in oxygen-depleted water and ammonia environments and can also be used in acetic acid environments below 3%-5%, but it is not suitable for mineral oils, greases, and aromatic or hydrocarbon solvents. The disadvantages of EPDM are slow vulcanization speed, inability to co-vulcanize with diene rubbers, poor self-adhesion and mutual adhesion, and poor air tightness.
Temperature range: -55℃ to 125℃, up to 150℃ with peroxide vulcanization.
Hardness range: Shore A 40 to 90.
Main colors: black, but custom colors are available upon customer request.

Product Features:
1. High cost-effectiveness, raw rubber density only 0.86～0.90 kg/m3, making it one of the lightest commonly used rubbers; it can be heavily filled to reduce material costs.
2. Excellent aging resistance, including weather, ozone, sunlight, heat, water, steam, UV, and radiation resistance. When blended with other unsaturated diene rubbers like NR, SBR, BR, NBR, and CR, EPDM acts as a polymeric antioxidant or anti-aging agent.
3. Outstanding chemical resistance to acids, alkalis, detergents, animal and vegetable oils, alcohols, etc.; exceptional resistance to water, hot water, and steam; good resistance to polar oils.
4. Excellent insulation properties: volume resistivity 10^16 Ω·cm, breakdown voltage 30～40 MV/m, dielectric constant (1 kHz, 20℃) 2.27.
5. Wide applicable temperature range, with a low service temperature of -40～-60℃ and long-term use possible at 130℃.
Application Range:
EPDM is widely used in the automotive industry for making partitions, hoses, dust boots, brake components, radiator and water tank engine connecting hoses, shock absorbers, as well as door and trunk seals. In the construction industry, EPDM is used with asphalt as waterproofing material, for shock-absorbing products in bridge engineering, sealing strips for high-rise steel doors, indoor rubber flooring. EPDM can serve as insulation material for transformers and other high, medium, and low-voltage insulation products, as well as components in household appliances like refrigerator seals, parts for heaters and fans, washing machine seals, vacuum cleaner parts, and inflatable rubber boats.
Mainly used in automotive seals, radiator hoses, spark plug boots, air conditioning hoses, gaskets, hoses, etc. In the automotive seal industry, EPDM is valued for its elasticity, ozone resistance, and weather resistance. Due to its excellent water resistance, heat and cold resistance, and weather resistance, along with ease of installation, EPDM is also used in the construction industry for plastic sports fields, waterproof membranes, door and window seals, glass curtain wall seals, sanitary equipment, and pipe seals.
