Proper installation of polycarbonate sheets ensures optimal performance.
1. Before installation, check the expansion allowance to ensure the reserved expansion gap is uniform and reasonable. For data on expansion gaps, consult Henan Yongxin Board Industry, and confirm that the panel dimensions meet specifications.
2. When fixing polycarbonate sheets and accessories, first peel off 30mm to 50mm of the protective film to prevent the film from being compressed by the mounting strips. Note that excessive removal of the protective film should be avoided, as it may scratch the panels during installation.
3. The side with UV protection should face outward during installation; do not install it incorrectly.
4. After installing the accessories, avoid over-tightening the self-tapping screws.
5. When drilling holes for screws, allow adequate space to account for thermal expansion and contraction.
6. Use specialized equipment to handle and transport polycarbonate sheets during installation.

Polycarbonate Sheet Product Features:
(1) Light Transmission: PC sheets offer up to 89% light transmittance, comparable to glass. UV-coated panels resist yellowing, hazing, and reduced transparency under sun exposure. After ten years, light transmittance loss is about 10%, compared to 15–20% for PVC and 12–20% for fiberglass.
(2) Impact Resistance: Impact strength is 250–300 times that of regular glass, 30 times that of acrylic sheets of the same thickness, and 2–20 times that of tempered glass, earning them the nicknames "unbreakable glass" and "sounding steel."
(3) UV Protection: One side of the PC sheet is co-extruded with a UV-resistant coating, while the other has anti-condensation treatment, combining UV resistance, thermal insulation, and anti-fogging properties. It blocks UV rays, making it ideal for protecting valuable artworks and exhibits from UV damage.
(4) Lightweight: With a density about half that of glass, it reduces costs related to transportation, handling, installation, and support structures.
(5) Flame Retardancy: According to standard GB50222—95, PC sheets are classified as flame-retardant (B1 grade). The self-ignition point is around 580°C, and the material self-extinguishes upon removal from fire. It does not emit toxic gases or contribute to fire spread.
(6) Bendability: Can be cold-bent on-site according to design plans to form arches, semicircular roofs, and windows. The minimum bending radius is about 175 times the sheet thickness; it can also be heat-bent.
(7) Sound Insulation: PC sheets provide significant noise reduction, offering better acoustic insulation than glass or acrylic of the same thickness. Under identical conditions, sound insulation improves by 5–9 dB compared to glass, making it a preferred material for highway sound barriers.
(8) Energy Efficiency: Keeps interiors cool in summer and warm in winter. PC sheets have a lower thermal conductivity (K-value) than glass and other plastics, offering 7–25% better insulation than equivalent glass, with up to 49% thermal insulation efficiency. This reduces heat loss, making it suitable for buildings with heating systems.
(9) Temperature Adaptability: PC sheets remain stable from -40°C to 125°C, with no significant changes in mechanical properties under harsh conditions.
(10) Weather Resistance: PC sheets maintain stable physical properties between -40°C and 120°C. After 4,000 hours of artificial weathering tests, yellowing is rated at 2, and light transmittance reduction is about 0.6%.
(11) Anti-Condensation: At 0°C outdoors and 23°C indoors with relative humidity below 80%, the inner surface remains condensation-free. Condensation flows along the surface without dripping.
