Usage of Polymer Emulsifier Process


I. Feeding Sequence and Production Process:

1. First, add clean water to the shearing emulsification kettle and open the steam valve for heating.

2. When the water temperature rises above 80 degrees, start the shearing emulsification kettle and add dispersant N.

3. Slowly add our company's AKD polymer emulsifier.

4. Maintain the temperature at 72-82 degrees and continuously and uniformly add AKD wax powder raw material.

5. After the AKD wax powder raw material is completely dissolved, control the temperature at 72-82 degrees and mix thoroughly with shearing emulsification for 20-30 minutes.

6. The emulsion after thorough mixing and shearing emulsification is homogenized using a homogenizer.

7. Immediately after homogenization, transfer it to the subsequent finished product mixing kettle, mix thoroughly with dissolved zirconium oxychloride and iron-free aluminum sulfate, adjust to the required concentration and pH, and then discharge.

II. Precautions:

1. The ratio of clean water to wax powder raw material (preferably from Kemira or Yihai) is generally controlled at 2:1.

2. The shearing emulsification temperature is generally controlled at 72-82 degrees.

3. The dosage of dispersant N (preferably from Shanghai Tiantan) is best controlled at around 3 kg per 100 kg of wax powder raw material.

4. The dosage of AKD polymer emulsifier is best controlled at 20-25 kg per 100 kg of wax powder raw material. For high-efficiency and high-quality surface sizing, increase it to 30-35 kg per 100 kg of wax powder raw material. Higher dosage improves comprehensive effects such as emulsification, water resistance, curing rate, curing speed, and rewinding moisture regain.

5. The homogenizer pressure is best controlled at 20-25 MPa.

6. The dosage of zirconium oxychloride is best controlled at 2-5 kg per ton of glue (fine-tuned with the principle of more in summer and less in winter). Due to its strong corrosiveness, it is best added in the subsequent mixing kettle. Adding it to the emulsification kettle and passing it through the homogenizer can cause significant damage to the homogenizer.

7. The dosage of iron-free aluminum sulfate is best controlled at 80-250 kg per ton of glue.

8. The pH of the finished glue is generally controlled at 2-4 for optimal results.

9. The concentration of the finished glue is generally controlled at 12.5-30%.

10. It is best stored in a ventilated and cool warehouse and dispatched as soon as possible, with a storage period of 3-6 months.
