Greenhouses require ventilation systems during construction, primarily to regulate temperature and humidity. When the greenhouse temperature exceeds crop growth requirements, vents must be opened to cool the greenhouse. Similarly, when humidity is high, vents should be opened to expel moisture, ensuring optimal crop growth. In the past, opening and closing vents were done manually, section by section, which was labor-intensive and time-consuming. This later evolved into manual and electric film rollers. Below, we share information about both manual and electric film rollers.

I. Manual Film Roller

The manual film roller is installed on the film rolling rod after the greenhouse is constructed, with the other end fixed to a climbing device. The climbing device is secured to a climbing rod, and by manually cranking the rolling rod, the lower vents of the greenhouse can be opened or closed. The upper vents are typically higher, usually 3 to 4 meters above the greenhouse floor. The installation method for the upper vents is similar to that of the lower vents, except that a guide chain about two meters long is suspended from the upper vent to facilitate opening and closing by pulling the chain. After installing the greenhouse film roller, it is essential to straighten the film rolling rod to ensure it meets the greenhouse's subsequent usage requirements.

II. Electric Film Roller

If an electric film roller is used, it must be appropriately matched in length. The installation method is the same as for manual rollers. The electric film roller replaces manual operation to achieve rapid film rolling and unrolling, as well as automatic control of the greenhouse environment. It features light weight, high output torque, self-locking output, high precision in travel adjustment, a wide adjustment range, rain resistance, anti-condensation, and low power consumption, making it suitable for use under various climate conditions.

1. Loosen the locking screws on the two travel adjustment buttons of the electric film roller. Rotate the travel adjustment buttons so that the two gear ring bosses are not pressing against the microswitch contacts. Flip the power reversal switch, and the electric film roller will start working. At this point, confirm the positions of the "film rolling direction" and "film unrolling direction" on the power reversal switch.

2. Set the power reversal switch to the "film rolling direction" position. Manually rotate one of the travel adjustment buttons so that the gear ring boss presses against the microswitch contact (a clicking sound can be felt). If the electric film roller motor stops rotating, this indicates that this adjustment button is used to set the travel for the "film rolling" direction. If the motor does not stop rotating, the other adjustment button is used for the "film rolling" direction travel.

3. Set the power reversal switch to the "film rolling direction" position. Manually rotate the "film rolling direction" travel adjustment button to adjust the film rolling travel. After confirming the film rolling travel, gently pull up the knob. Set the power to the "film unrolling direction" position. Manually rotate the "film unrolling direction" travel adjustment button to adjust the film unrolling travel. After confirming the film unrolling travel, gently pull up the knob.
