Properties: Light yellow or light brown amorphous powder, oxidizes and darkens in color when exposed to air, odorless, with an astringent taste. Soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, and ethyl acetate.

Uses: (1) This product is widely used in the extraction of tannins, the manufacture of iron gall ink, metal rust prevention, mud treatment agents for petroleum drilling, and as a raw material in the pharmaceutical industry. (2) Solid fabric dyeing can be used to produce leather tanning agents, mordants, rubber coagulants, protein precipitants, and alkaloid precipitants. (3) Pharmaceutical products, such as the raw material for sulfonamide synergists (TMP). (4) Chemical products, used as a raw material for producing pharmaceutical gallic acid, pyrogallic acid, and sulfonamide drugs, and also as a raw material for producing gallic acid and pyrogallic acid.
