Physical and Chemical Properties: Colorless or light yellow transparent oily liquid. Soluble in ethyl cellulose, polystyrene, and acetyl chloride acetate. Relative density (25°C/4°C) 0.913, freezing point -55°C, boiling point 377°C, flash point (open cup) 215°C, refractive index 1.449, viscosity (20°C) 19.9 mPa·s. Soluble in alcohols, ketones, esters, hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and other organic solvents; insoluble in water and diols. Compatible with ethyl cellulose, polystyrene, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, etc. Excellent cold resistance. Flammable, non-toxic; LD50 12800～29600 mg/kg.
Applications: DOS is an excellent cold-resistant plasticizer with high plasticizing efficiency and low volatility. It is compatible with most resins and synthetic rubbers, offering excellent cold resistance, good heat resistance, light resistance, and electrical insulation. Suitable for polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride copolymers, nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, synthetic rubber, and various other resins. Particularly suitable for manufacturing cold-resistant wire and cable materials, artificial leather, films, sheets, and plates. Also used in synthetic lubricants for jet engines and widely applied in military production as rocket propellant. Non-toxic, it can be used in food-contact packaging materials, providing products with a good hand feel.
