Dibasic lead stearate serves as a stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride. Lead stabilizers were the earliest stabilizers used for PVC and are extensively employed, accounting for approximately 60% of all stabilizer usage (excluding lead soaps). Dibasic lead stearate outperforms lead stearate in terms of thermal stability, electrical insulation, and water resistance. It is commonly used in extruded products such as pipes, corrugated sheets, and wires, as well as in injection-molded products.
