Biomass SNCR (Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction) denitrification is a widely used denitrification technology applied in coal-fired boilers, biomass boilers, and other industrial kilns.

SNCR technology operates within a narrow temperature range of 850~1050°C in the boiler furnace. Without the participation of a catalyst, reducing agents such as NH3 or urea are used to selectively reduce NOx gases in the boiler flue gas, essentially without reacting with O2 in the flue gas.


The main reactions for reducing NOx with NH3 or urea are:

4NO + 4NH3 + O2 → 4N2 + 6H2O

4NO2 + 2NH3 + O2 → 3N2 + 6H2O
