Scope of Application: It applies to numerous fields such as electronic and electrical appliances, building materials, household items, medical products, toy products, machinery equipment, wireless products, transportation vehicles, safety protection and labor protection products, etc.
Certification Directives: Mainly include the Low Voltage Directive (LVD), Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC), Radio Equipment Directive (RED), Machinery Directive (MD), Personal Protective Equipment Directive (PPE), Toy Directive (TOY), etc.
Certification Modes:
Self-Declaration Mode: Products with lower risk levels can be self-certified by the enterprise by issuing a "Declaration of Conformity," i.e., Module A internal production control.
Third-Party Certification Mode: Products with higher risk levels must involve a third-party certification body, such as Module B (EC Type Examination), Module C (Conformity to Type), Module D (Production Quality Assurance), etc.
Certification Process: Determine applicable standards and regulations, conduct product testing and evaluation, prepare technical documentation, compile CE marking documentation, submit technical documentation and CE marking documentation to the relevant certification body or local agency. After the product passes testing and meets regulatory requirements, the certification body will issue the CE certification.
Certificate Validity: The CE certification certificate is generally valid for 5 years. However, if the standards or directives undergo revisions, upgrades, updates, etc., it may be necessary to reapply for the CE certificate.
