1100 is industrial pure aluminum with an aluminum content (mass fraction) of 99.00%, and it cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. It has high corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity, and thermal conductivity, with low density and good plasticity. It can be processed into various aluminum products through pressure working, but its strength is low. Other processing properties are essentially the same as 1050A. 1100 is commonly used in applications requiring good formability, high corrosion resistance, and where high strength is not necessary, such as food and chemical handling and storage equipment, sheet metal products, small hollow hardware made by drawing or spinning, welded assemblies, reflectors, nameplates, etc.
1100 aluminum sheet and strip belong to the pure aluminum sheet series, with relatively low strength and excellent ductility, formability, weldability, and corrosion resistance. After anodizing, the corrosion resistance can be further improved while achieving an attractive surface appearance; however, it cannot be strengthened by heat treatment.
The pure aluminum sheet series is determined by the last two Arabic digits to indicate the minimum aluminum content. For example, the last two digits of the 1100 series are 00, and according to international naming principles, the aluminum content must be at least 99.00% to qualify as a standard product. China's aluminum alloy technical standard (GB/T3880-2012) also明確規(guī)定 stipulates that the aluminum content of 1100 must reach 99.0%.
1100 aluminum sheet and strip are generally used in utensils, heat sinks, bottle caps, printed boards, building materials, heat exchanger components, and can also be used for deep-drawn products. They are widely applied in various fields from cookware to industrial equipment.
