Brass plate is an alloy composed of copper and zinc. If it is made solely of copper and zinc, it is called common brass. Brass is often used to manufacture valves, water pipes, connecting pipes for indoor and outdoor air conditioning units, and radiators.
If it is composed of more than two elements, it is referred to as special brass. For example, copper alloys containing lead, tin, manganese, nickel, iron, or silicon. Brass has strong wear resistance. Special brass, also known as特種黃銅, has high strength, great hardness, and strong resistance to chemical corrosion. It also exhibits outstanding mechanical properties for machining. The seamless copper tubes drawn from brass are soft and highly wear-resistant. Brass seamless tubes can be used in heat exchangers, condensers, low-temperature pipelines, and submarine transport pipes. They are used to manufacture sheets, strips, rods, tubes, and cast parts. With a copper content of 62% to 68%, it has strong plasticity and is used to manufacture pressure-resistant equipment. Depending on the types of alloying elements contained in brass, it is classified into common brass and special brass. Brass used for pressure processing is called wrought brass.
Applications: It can be used to make various force-bearing parts through deep drawing and bending, such as pins, rivets, washers, nuts, conduits, pressure gauges, screens, and radiator parts. It has good mechanical properties, excellent plasticity in the hot state, acceptable plasticity in the cold state, good machinability, easy soldering and welding, and corrosion resistance. It is a widely used variety of common brass.
