Other Products
The MT8862A utilizes built-in support for the IEEE 802.11ac/n/a/g/b communication standards and employs Network Mode to measure the performance of target WLAN devices under test (DUT) in actual operating conditions. RF performance parameters such as Tx power and Rx sensitivity (PER) can be tested using Network Mode, simplifying test environment configuration without requiring specific test modes provided by chip manufacturers for WLAN device testing.
Features:

Description:
The Wireless Connectivity Test Set MT8862A is designed to measure the TRx RF characteristics of WLAN IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac devices (operating in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands). Using standard WLAN protocol information (WLAN signals), the MT8862A connects to the DUT and measures various TRx performance parameters in Network Mode.
RF Performance Testing Under Actual Operating Conditions (Network Mode)
By leveraging the MT8862A's Network Mode, TRx RF characteristics such as Tx power and modulation accuracy (EVM) can be measured under actual operating conditions using WLAN devices. There is no need for direct DUT control or enabling specialized test modes, allowing quantification of DUT RF performance under firmware conditions with actual loads.
Simplified Measurement Environment Configuration
The MT8862A can emulate an Access Point (AP) or Station (STA) to establish a network connection with the DUT using IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WLAN protocol information. Once connected, general WLAN communication procedures can be used for RF measurements without requiring special tools, control programs, or complex measurement environment setups.
2x2 MIMO Rx Sensitivity and Tx Power Measurement Capabilities
Using two MT8862A units for 2x2 MIMO Rx sensitivity and Tx power testing provides an ideal solution for evaluating the RF characteristics of end products in 2x2 MIMO communication states.
Testing Devices with Security Settings Enabled
Supports WLAN encryption technologies such as WEP, WPA-Personal, and WPA2-Personal, allowing connection and measurement without disabling DUT security settings.
Unique Transmission Measurement Data Rate Control Algorithm
The Network Mode of the MT8862A incorporates a unique data rate control algorithm, enabling transmission measurements at user-specified data rates.
Rx Sensitivity Measurement Using Correct Response Frame Count for Failure Rate Curve Generation
The MT8862A supports Rx sensitivity measurement using the count of correct response frames; the number of correct response frames sent by the DUT and the test packets transmitted by the MT8862A support Packet Error Rate (PER). By setting the power level range (-120 to 0 dBm) and step size to reduce power levels, packets can be transmitted to automatically generate a failure rate curve for Rx sensitivity. Packets containing MAC addresses and payload lengths can be configured in real time to measure different data rates.
Web Browser GUI Operations Executable Immediately After Network Connection
Quickly connect the MT8862A to a PC via an Ethernet cable and access the GUI operation environment through a web browser without requiring test installation operations.
The web browser-based GUI eliminates concerns about matching host firmware versions. Additionally, the MT8862A's remote control port supports DHCP client functionality, simplifying host and domain name settings by connecting the PC controller and MT8862A to the same network.
Frame Capture Log for Identifying and Resolving Connection Issues
Equipped with a built-in frame capture log function, the MT8862A can capture and save frame capture logs to identify and resolve DUT connection issues. Capture logs can be viewed in *.pcap (Packet Capture) format using supported applications, making it easier to analyze DUT connection problems.
Transmitting IP Data Using Connection Verification Tests
The Ethernet port on the MT8862A's back panel can be used to exchange IP data with external servers. IP connections between a PC client connected to the DUT and an external server connected to the MT8862A can be verified using tools such as Internet Packet Explorer.
